Ljúras
Ljúras1 are Dragonía's largest rodents, native to the western woodlands. They share similar habitats with the Marsh Boars and giant salamanders, but are far better swimmer than the former, often jumping into and staying underwater for several minutes when threatened.
The ancient Alalaríans hunted ljúras extensively, and Útels domesticated them around the same time as Ykan Birds and pigs. The zira-naa, the rabbit farmers' caste, is also responsible for raising ljúras along with other rodents for food and skins. The grease on their fur is also collected and used in various traditional medicines.
