Vló Salmons

Vló salmons1 are the largest species of salmons found in the Klalaþan Sea in western Dragonía, particularly the southeastern part of region near the coast of northeastern Vorran Peninsula and Ela'k Forest. They spend the first year of their life in the upper reaches of certain rivers on the Vorran Peninsula, particularly Íseb- and -to lesser extent- Kvór-í River, after which they live in the sea for up to five years, save for salmon runs. Unlike most Dragonían salmons, vló salmons survive to spawn more than once.

Uses, Products & Exploitation
The Kroks native to Vorran Peninsula fish for vló salmons as the fish make its journey upriver, though traditionally at least one fish is released back to water so as not to anger the local spirits. While some of the catch is eaten during this time, most of it is smoked and traded for various goods, including spices from the west and metals from the east. The colourful scales are also used for traditional jewelry and belts.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Normally silvery with slight blue tinge on their back, vló salmons gain a blue complexion with irregular black spots during salmon runs.
