Alyssar Desrosiers (a.k.a. Alice)
Alice is a Garundi changeling woman, a former Chelish slave, and now a witch of Grandmother Spider with growing power over both weather and cloth. She is largely motivated by finding out what happened to others from her ill-fated escape attempt, finding out what happened to her lost ex-girlfriend Tilly Helton, and generally aiding in the cause of rescuing Chelish slaves and murdering Hellknights.
Alice is six-foot-six and two-hundred pounds, and could perhaps be unkindly described as gangly or spindly. She begins the story with her hair hacked off, as it grows she keeps the sides meticulously shaved and sometimes does the top into a braid of increasing length. Her hair grows very fast and has a metallic quality to it. Like the keratin in her pronounced nails, it contains actual copper and tarnishes a pale green under certain conditions. Like most changelings, Alice is very pretty in a fey sort of way. She has big, canted almond eyes, though the effect is slightly spoiled by the fact that they're yellow-slitted cat eyes. She's got a crooked smile and full lips, but her teeth are small and sharp, and there are too many of them. People are often drawn to her, but most animals react to her presence like the coming of a storm or an earthquake.
