Escape from the Mechanical Meat Grinder

General Summary

Returning to Fort Emberwood, Queen Lenore began to show symptoms of illness. The longer she stayed outside of the Haze of Drakkenheim, the more she declined until she physically touched a shard of delerium and seemed to absorb it's magical properties and contamination. It was agreed upon that Queen Lenore would not survive without returning to the Haze, or consuming delerium which would strengthen her and at the same time cause her to become hostile once again. The party needed to search for a cure, but was unsure where to turn with their faith not in the Academy thanks to Roth. Additionally, Roth used the amulet he was gifted by Orcus to divine his father's location. Knowing Oscar had begun traveling into the city near the crash site of the meteor, the party accompanied him toward the last known location of Oscar. As they passed the center of the city, they unwittingly stumbled through Slaughterstone Square. Seeing a large hulking figure, Lukas and Maeve identified it as they Executioner; a dwarven construct under the command of the royal seals. Approaching, it was obviously overgrown with delerium. Pike moved forward, trying to destroy it before it could become a problem. However, the corruption and delerium had empowered the construct so much that it was entirely a new tier of threat. As it was assulted by everyone, it's metal form heated by Maeve's spell, it released it's exhaust vents. This sent a giant wave of poisonous and noxious fumes out that nearly killed everyone nearby and inflicted contaminating effects on Maeve. Quickly realizing the danger, everyone fled to the East hoping to never cross paths with the Executioner who guards Slaughterstone Square.
