The Tragic Father
General Summary
After departming the Hooded Lantern Garrison the party was accosted by a terrifying creature known as a Haze Griffon. Just as the party was about to meet their demise a full blooded elven man appeared and intercepted just in time to save the life of the entire party. Moving quickly down the streets, Y'srega would realize the back of the man he was following was that of his father whom he'd been searching for in the ruins. Leading the group to a cave, Rishinvel would let the group rest at his makeshift home. The party would shortly realize that Rishinvel was not well, suffering nearly full contamination from the deep haze. The elven man had been battling the Haze Griffon, staving off death after every encounter for years. He regaled the party with the tale of his wife, Y'srega's mother's death. The tragic story would tell the tale of why he had come to be in the state he was. Unable to continue the fight without losing himself entirely, Rishinvel offers up any information on the hunt he has if Y'srega would deliver the finishing blow. Late in the night, Vinny would offer Rishinvel a quick and painless death before he lost himself to the delerium sickness if needed. Meanwhile, Pike would struggle against an unknown force that sought to stir something deep within him. Devil and Dragon blood mixed within the veins of Pike, causing a wicked sickness that eats at his soul as he was faced with a new enemy; Zedicus, the former ally of the party who appeared in his visions as an insurmountable obstical. When the fever induced delerious state wore away with the morning sun, the party would prepare themselves to move out towards the nest of the Griffon.
