Monastery of the Elder Tree

A massive winding tree marks the southern edge of the emerald forests of Grudalia. Legends have it that the whole forest of Grudalia comes from this tree. Dug into the roots of the Elder Tree is a large winding temple dedicated to both the tranquility of the Elder Tree and the goddess Eldath. A monastery was established on the side of the giant tree. At the base of the tree is a garden consisting of standard plots in which they grow the root vegetables Elioni, and hanging terrace gardens to grow fruit plants called Fille's Tears. This garden produces enough food to feed the whole monastery, though they will often trade with travelling merchants for a variety of food. Above the gardens is a small platform built off the trunk of the mighty tree, in which the monks and guests are housed and fed in the feast hall. Above that is a triple terraced platform that serves the monks as a training ground, topped with a cherry blossom tree and a strange metal artifact. At the top of the monastery, yet hundreds of feet from the first branch on the tree, is Master Harrith's quarters.
