The Executioner Report
General Summary
INTRO
There is steady snowfall outside as the sun slowly creeps down below the horizon. Crisp cold air, the sounds of creaking tree branches, raven calls, and the distant baying of wolves makes for an ominous evening in Orasnou. You are all gathered in the inn after a long day of travel, fighting, and death ready to eat a well-earned hot meal. Marku, the owner of The Seven Tables is happy to provide you with room and board at no expense because of the work you accomplished for the village today. A heavy shroud of snow has blanketed the village of Orașnou. You find yourself inside its only inn, The Seven Tables, preparing to eat the first hot meal you have had in days. The common room is filled mostly with locals, many of them hunkered down waiting for a break in the blizzard to return to their homes. An aura of fear and superstition permeates the room, as the villagers engage in discussing rumors as they wait. Marku Grelon and his servers place a plate of stringy meat, potatoes, carrots, and a mug of mead in front of you. “I hope you enjoy this, as it is the best we have. I fear that we all might very well starve now that we no longer have the trappers to provide us with supplies. This looks like it will be a long winter”. Marku scratches his chin a moment and then says under his breath as he turns back to the bar, “I wonder if those new elves would help with the furs and meat gathering.” The group has a lengthy discussion concerning the events of the day as they eat their meal and watch the locals move about the tavern. They wonder what they will have to do to get out of Orasnou with the winter weather quickly closing the village exits due to its remote location so far north. The ivory skinned fiend, Des, bemoans the fact that he should have expected them to hang Alina as his father had his own unfortunate dealings with the people of this dark land.TWO NEWCOMERS
The party meets a gnome named Ian who came to the inn for shelter and drink because the treacherous weather put him out of work as they were working on a road along the south side of the mountain. They also meet Ezra, a woman who wears a black cloak laced in rabbit fur and a porcelain mask, she and the gnome were happy to listen to the conversations that were happening among them on this dreary evening. The clerical lizard, adorned with the holy symbol of the Morning Lord, chooses to attempt an insult at Ian, when he approaches the group, by saying, “what is this misshapen form of a child”, which Ian seems to handle the situation well. Once Ezra walks over to the table of hero's and joins the conversation, another of the party who is adorned in a hooded cloak, sharp ivory ears and long braided white hair named Feyre chooses to try and explain the situation more clearly to Ezra and Ian in very simple terms as her feline like familiar roams about the table looking over the scraps.RUMORS
The villagers of Orasnou are a very superstitious lot, or so the adventurers learned rather quickly this evening as they suggested that killing the wolf pup that turned up recently would be an appropriate sacrifice to stave off the curse they believe was upon their little village. The party considers trying to locate and save the pup from the villagers, of course. There is also a rumor heard that stated something to the effect of an ancient artifact hidden somewhere in the village, and an increase in guards at the burgomaster’s mansion. There was also a discussion of the fact that the selections to buy at Fillar’s trinket shop in the village had crown considerably in that last day or two. The barmaid mentions that a new fellow named Arik is providing trinkets to Fillar for a price and that the fellow smelt strange when he was near. The innkeeper mentions that persons have been turning up missing lately as well around the village. He adds that the village defenders found a couple wagons raided but that they do not know much concerning the circumstances otherwise.THE RAVEN’s ARRIVAL
Everyone looks towards the Seven Tables Inn threshold as they hear a noise outside which sounds like a horse and wagon pulling up to the Inn. A moment later the door swings open and a hefty gust of freezing wind burst through the common area. In the doorway stands a figure cloaked in black furs with a thick hood covering their head. She carries a long staff strapped to her back which bears a strange skull tied to the top which resembles a narrow humanoid head. The person swings the door shut behind her with a furry hand. She then tosses her travel pack into the nearest corner causing the snow that is on it to dust the floor like powdered sugar before it melts away. She steps to the bar and ever so slightly turns her head revealing a black mask in the distinct shape of a raven. Black feathers adorn it along with a small amethyst in the middle. She says to the innkeeper, “Marku, it has been a very long and freezing journey back from Castle Ravenloft, I would appreciate a hot drink to warm my paws”. The newcomer drops a gold raven onto the counter and pulls her head back revealing long white fur covered ears. She then takes the mask off and places it gently on the bar counter and adds politely, to no one in particular, “There are a lot of strangers in the village tonight”. The group learns that the newcomer is a “rabbit” like race and her name is Aramoira. Aramoira and the innkeeper discuss a new guest that Lord Zarovich had visiting his castle that wore a red dress and was very prim and proper. She also mentioned a man, with a skull tattoo, that had been at the castle which causes Karinya’s jaw to drop noticeably. Karinya’s pale skin shines a bit in the candlelight of the tavern and her fangs are now very much obvious as her mouth lingers open. Karinya, when asked, identifies the man as Vandir, a person she knew from her own home village.Rewards Granted

FILLAR’S SHOP and UNDEAD
The party spends some time exploring the local shop, called The Eyes of Midnight, to see what they might learn. They encounter Arik at the store and are quick to press after him as he attempts a speedy departure on his gaunt black horse. Prior to the party leaving the shop, Fillar informs them that Arik had acquired a powder box from him that was once owned by Tatyana Federovna before she passed away.
The party attempts to follow the hoof tracks to locate Arik, and in the process come across what, at first, they thought was a dead wolf pup under the snow only to find a wolf skin cap of a sort. As they continue their search, they hear screams from the village center. The adventurers quickly muster what meager strength they have left and rush to the town center try and offer whatever aid that might be able too. They discover the village is under attack by a small meandering group of zombies and ghouls.
THE WELL
Once the undead are dealt with, the fires extinguished, and the victims taken care of the group wonders over to a strange site around the town’s well. A ring of corn dollies surrounded the well with a gap in the circle. In that gap was a tiny skeleton. Inspection of the well only brought more questions and dispair as the night grew colder and snow began to fall again.
