Australia

Australia is a deadly land briming with dragons and other strange and deadly creatures. During the The Reign of Fire, the majority of the Human inhabitants of Australia were destroyed, though a few communities remain. It is considered impossible for non-australians to survive in Australia.

Geography

Especially after the fire, a majority of Australia is now desert wasteland. Its size competes with the Sahara. The desert is very rocky, but is surrounded by small areas of grassland. The Deserts are full of canyons and other rock formations, such as monoliths, however, the deserts are still incredibly flat and stretch out for miles. Just surrounding the dry deserts are grasslands and plains. These areas are incredably flat and can burn very easily. Due to the constant burning, the deserts are slowly expanding into the graslands.

Along the coasts, there is more green life. In the northern parts, Australia is more tropical. There are wetlands and rainforests in the tropical north. On the farthest points of the east and west there are subtropical areas. These subtropical areas are much smaller than they used to be, and are more like a small rainforest. In the far south, the land is cooler, and more temperate forests are abundant.

Running from the north all the way south, A large mountain range divides the desert and grasslands from the lush coastal forests in the eastern part of the continent. This mountain range is called the Great Dividing Range. Wrecked cities are spread out along the coast, as that is where most of Australia's population originally resided.

Climate

Australia is very dry and arid. It is the driest of all the human-inhabited continents. However, the continent still has tropical and subtropical climates in the far north, east, and west. The tropical areas recieve an abundace of rainfall but this rain comes in seasons. A wet season and a dry season.

In the southern part of Australia, the climate is more temperate, and cooler compared to the rest of the continent. This climate has allowed for fertile soil and the posibility of farming to exist in that area. The mountain tops of the Dividing Range are surprisingly covered in snow.

As Australia is in the Southern Hemispher, the typical seasons of Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter work a little bit differntly. Australia's coldest months are June and July, while their hottest months are December and January.

History

Australia Today

Today, dragons rule Australia. The dragons scramble for survival in the large outback, not willing to pass up any potenital meal. While humans still live there, no comunities can survive for very long. Most people find they are better off living on their own. The people have found that they are better off wandering the forests than try to conquer the lands and create farms. Too much of a target for dragons.

Although it may seem like the Australians do nothing but run in fear away from dragons, that is quite the oposite of reality. The largest dragon hunting guild is in Australia. Hunting dragons is becoming a part of Australian culture. However, the people have to survive everything else in the Australian Wilderness as well as the dragons. The wild Outback of Australia kills more Australians, than dragons. It also kills more dragons than the Australians.

Is it really dragons who are in control, or is it the land itself?
