Gofer Dragons

Gofer Dragons are any dragon capable of carrying messages without fail. These dragons can be any species, but are usualy small wyverns due to being faster and lower maintenance than larger dragons. The only true requirement, is that the dragon has to get the message it is carrying to the correct location without losing it, destroying it, or getting distracted or lost. Of course, most people choose the smarter dragons for the job to prevent these issues.

Utility

Sending messages all over the world is something that has been done for ages. Gofer Dragons allow this process to take place faster in an incredibly isolated world. It is accesable to almost anyone, and it uses an incredibly diverse creature, dragons. There are thousands upon thousands of dragon species, many all around the world that can be trained into Gofer Dragons. Gofer Dragons alow for comunication accross far away places.

Unfortunatly, due to the dragons simply flying out in the open, they can be intercepted. Some groups will target certian communities, and prevent them from sending or recieveing messages. Ocasionaly, some vengeful people will even send out hostile messages, posing as one community, and to another community. This almost never ends peacefuly,

Social Impact

Gofer Dragons have allowed people across the world to be able to communicate again. People and communities have been able to trade for distant knowledge and goods. Gofer Dragons have also allowed for the creation of a service based around them.

Dragon Delivery Service

There is no one community that owns all Gofer Dragons, however, there is a service, Dragon Deliveries, that trains and regulates Gofer Dragons and their messages. A person can pay to have their message delivered to an extremely far away place if they have no Gofer dragon, or time to train one. Typicaly, people use this service to send messages across continents.

Access & Availability

Anyone can train a dragon into a Gofer Dragon, as long as their community allows the trapping and training of dragons. Usually, any community that uses dragons will have at some point trained a Gofer Dragon.

Complexity

Training a dragon can be quite difficult. Most dragons are either trapped, then trained, or they are raised from an egg and trained. Dragons raised from an egg are easier to train. However, it still takes years to train a dragon properly. Dragons are extremely inteligent, they are known to trick their trainers, often.
