26 Puppy & Inn Fire

General Summary

After defeating the invisible thing, the party went shopping at some nearby stores. Klover checked out a bakery and got a free cake, and the baker dude, Urgran ended up asking him to babysit his puppy named Periwinkle. Thiol went to the magic shop and bought a bunch of scrolls. Solana went to the magic shop looking for a sword, then went to the armory and bought one. Lyrra went to the magic shop briefly to check for journals and inks, then ended up going and getting some at the bookstore. Thiol was drawn in by a very interesting novel. Klover discovered that Periwinkle had some very rich tastes for a dog. The party then went directly to the King's Palace at the Mountainshade Fortress to collect their rewards. The Queen saw the puppy in Klover's arms and demanded to know where he got it, and took the puppy from him, saying it was her dead son's dog and the baker must have stolen it. The party tried to inform the queen that the Prince and the Baker were dating, but she insisted that her son wouldn't date a commoner. The party got their rewards from the King and requested guards underground on Larc Lestat's behalf, and requested that the SDB be asked to collaberate with them (the King said this wasn't really his thing but a lord could look into it), and informed him of the demon activity on higher levels of the Underground. The King gave the party the deed to a house that they should sign if they want to take ownership of the house. The party then went to warn Urgran that some guards were coming for him. He went with them back to Club Mahogany while the party went back to the Bedrock and Breakfast across the street. Back at the hotel, Solana and Thiol sent the Athame of Harvesting back to Gennieros, and Solana snuck in Thiol's new book. A few minutes later, an eagle arrived with a note from Genn and a sword that can cast a fire spell. Thiol gave the sword to Solana, and she tested out the sword in her room with Lyrra, ending up with the room on fire and the window broken. Klover came in and tried to help put things out with water. Darlene heard the commotion and got upset, and told Solana and Lyrra and Klover that they needed to leave the hotel. They fixed and tried to pay for the damage, but Darlene didn't want them in her hotel anymore. Solana and Lyrra and Klover ended up going across the street, where they sat Princess Staci yelling at some guards and telling them to shove off and stop bothering Urgran. They sat and drank with Staci and Urgran for a while, and eventually Thiol did too, and she complained about Princess Problems. Solana and Lyrra eventually went to get an extremely fancy hotel, while Klover went to check out the new house that no one had looked at yet. Solana sent Thiol a post card, and then paid a guy to throw ball bearings at him. While Solana and Thiol and Lyrra were up late, Klover went to sleep, so he woke up much earlier than them. When he got up, he found a news reporter who wanted to interview him and/or the party about their investigation, so he went to the newspaper office and did the interview.
