37: Web of Trees

General Summary

The party made their way through the woods outside Gastir. They encountered some strange phenomena, including some sort of mind-controlling effect that had a hold on Fenrick, even stronger than the geas Klover had placed on him. The ghosts in the forest all seemed to be converging on a point that Fenrick tried to go to. He said he felt as though he had to kill Anika, the huntmaster with the tooth dogs.

The party eventually heard sounds of a fight, and came upon some hunters fighting some owlbears. They broke up the fight with minimal owlbear casualties, and found that the hunters were controlled in some way too, and they couldn't remember where they were from or who they were.

After coming out of the woods, the party got an announcement from Aki, and then picked up a communication from Ulenor as they saw a giant wormlike body fall out of the sky, from a purple swirling hole that seems to chip away at the very sky.
