9 Loot & Maze
General Summary
Menti disappeared somewhere during the short Rest, and Thiol worked on repairing the Wingbeast and determined that it needs rocket fuel to run. Lyrra had a conversation with a shapeshifter, and he offered her incentive to not share his secret. She confirmed her information with Seth. Thiol spoke with Raven about the awkwardness of his sister Owl working for the BBEG. Solana wanted to loot the town, so Jatai drew a back-of-the-parchment town layout, and the party decided to go to the middle-class neighborhood district to see if they could find any rocket fuel or salvageable items.
They found a house with bodies outside, and the door swinging open in the wind. The house was inhabited by Larry, very sad and muttering to himself because he had to guard the house and posessions which belonged to the Thane Wildamar. They eventually convinced Larry to go back to the keep with them, and they loaded posessions from the house and the locked room onto a floating disc to take back.
When they got back to the keep, Larry went off to hang out with Wei due to his tranquil presence, and Thiol brought up dueling again which led to a small argument between himself and Jatai. Solana speculated that Thiol could be the child of Wylandriah and Jatai, proving that she truly does not see race. Solana and Lyrra bonded over reading Wildamar's journal, where he said Larry was awesome, Wildamar was the coolest, and he saw a sillhouette of a castle somewhere between Osi's Hollow and Zoria's Ridge, which is on the northwest end of the continent.
The party left for Eldamar, aiming to find Mordak's Missing Knife from the water mill to the west of the city. On the way Lyrra shared some of her less classified information, and saw a weird northern-light in the sky on they way there. As they entered the forest around Eldamar, they saw the trees shifting weirdly and found that their paths they took did not stay in place once they passed a certain spot. Lyrra convinced a tree to try to help them by offering him water, and they were approached by Mordak, Lady of Eldamar. She said originally she thought the Picchesterians had her knife, but then she thought it was probably one of her own people, so the entire town was grounded. Though that ended up being somewhat useful due to all the stalkers about. Still, the party could not come in, so they camped outside Eldamar for the day and started discussing whether to try to sneak in to look for the knife, or whether they should just leave.
