Sotto Varoona

Positioned at the edge of Goddess Bay and overlooking the steep drop-off into the inky black abyss of the sea, is the underwater city of Sotto Varoona. Home to a vast array of aquatic and amphibious races – tritons, aquatic elves, merfolk – it is ruled by the powerful Kereselló, a race of "two-skinned" humanoids that, while comfortable in their underwater home, have crafted out a sizeable presence on land as well. Like Varoona Proper, Sotto Varoona has seen its fair share of Varoona's wrath, though tempered by the waters that surround them. As political and economic tides on the continent shift, the position of Sotto Varoona and its people has grown more and more important and prosperous, especially after amends were made between the Kereselló dynasty and the religious and political authorities of Varoona Proper.
The royal family is housed in the Koaz Keep. King Dorephan currently rules with his trusted handful of advisors. His eldest child, Princess Mipha, is heir to his throne, though she is currently studying in Carmenthia.
