The Library of Carmenthia
Long before the Dread King's War, the Old Temple of Carmenthia sunk beneath the cracked and splintered lava flats that make up the southern portion of the island of Carmenthia. Although many have tried, all have failed til uncover its location... until Dr. Conway happened to stumble across a pillar that, once deciphered, seemed to indicate the temple's presence nearby.
The Great Library's entrance rests across a now broken stone bridge that stretches across a pool of boiling and bubbling magma. Large double doors – now covered partially by volcanic rock – still gleam and shine, radiating light of orange and yellow from the magma below and hints of teal from the two torches that seem to pulse rhythmically. Black paint, slightly chipped, fades to gray and then to white across the doors. Four figures are carved, two on each door. One figure clutches a vial of poison as they exhale green fumes while there mirror holds bandages and a beaded necklace. The two figures above shake hands across the doors, holding tomes and wielding arcane sigils. Here lies the entrance to Carmenthia's Temple and her trove of knowledge...
The Libraries
It should come as no surprise that the vast majority of Carmenthia's Old Temple is composed of her great and extensive library, which is divided into 3 sections: Central, East, and West. Although regularly tended to an organized, perusing through her massive collection can be daunting, particularly for those who are unfamiliar with the library or are uncertain what exactly it is they are looking for. The Central library contains many of the collections on Dremoran history, general religion, and the arcane. The East library contains collections on poison and disease and other related topics. The mirror library, the West library, contains collections on medicine, rehabilitation, and other such topics.
Besides walls covered in books, tomes, and scrolls, the Old Temple contains various other amenities within the libraries, including a brewing chamber (and associated pantry), bathhouse (with personal massage rooms and sauna), various study nooks, dining halls, and bedrooms for those undertaking more lengthy projects within the Temple.
The library is overseen and attended by a single individual: Ismera.
