Leecher is a legendary Thrastian weapon traditionally held and useable only by the planets Guardian. It's current holder is Yash'ailaran, however thanks to a massively rushed promotion he remains unable to draw the weapon from its sheath without dying.
The sword is so powerful that it developed sentience. Leecher is well meaning, and ultimately wants to be useful - constantly asking anyone nearby to draw him and wield him. He denies that drawing him would be dangerous for the wielder. As a magical sword, he also has no concept of the passage of time, referring to events occurring centuries ago as having happened yesterday, or even tomorrow. 
The bearer of Leecher receives numerous benefits. Firstly, even without drawing the weapon they are blessed with linguistic comprehension, and they almost completely cease to age. If a being were able to draw and use Leecher, it would likely be one of the most dangerous weapons in all creation. On the other hand, while the weapon is well meaning its constant request combined with the users extended life span can be enough to drive people to insanity.
