The Telarus Prime

The Prime are Telarus's elite forces working tirelessly to sculpt the world to his perfect vision.
Due to necessity most have adopted a form of magic into their already formidable fighting style, for example the astromancers, who can toy with planar shifting, or the illusomancers who, naturally, work with illusory magic - having them be deployed both as specialised units for certain situations or as generalist warriors for the army.
They typically use similar equipment being: Dual wielding longswords and heavy plate armour, their distinct lack of range is often made up for via their magic specialisation with the few that don't utilise magical attacks opting often for modified crossbows rigged to fire two or more bolts simultaneously.  
The Prime are taken from those within the ranks of Telarus's army /Training centres who showed particular promise and undergo severe and rigorous training to not only build up power, but loyalty. A further select few are selected for genetic testing via a mixture of science and rarely practised magics unknown to most, the results of these tests remain largely unknown.
