Sinazi
The Sinazi is the legal currency of the Telzian Empire, and the most widely accepted coin of the central world. It consists of three main coins, and is backed by the material worth of each coin. There is no standardized design of Sinazi; each province is expected to mint their own version of the coin, within a tolerance standard for weight and size. The head of each coin is the same, and acts as a standardized mark of the coin's legitimacy, but the tail remains the worry of the province.
As such, the provinces have spent inordinate sums of money to emblazon very finely detailed work onto the tails of the coins, often depicting historical events or forming delicate geometric symbols. Within the courts of Telzia, the detail of the coins is flaunted as a symbol of wealth and power, and it is not uncommon for nobles to spend exorbitant sums to provide one-off pieces for no other purpose than to brag.
The bronze Mark is the lowest value coin, and consists of a 25mm diameter, 2mm thick bronze disk lacking reeded edges. The head of the coin is a portrait of the first Telzian Emperor, King Ignatios. Typically, three mark is sufficient to buy a loaf of bread (0.5$). The silver State is the middle value coin, and consists of a 30mm diameter, 2.5mm thick silver disk with reeded edges (60 reeds). The head of the coin is a representation of the territory of the Telzian Empire, which may contain a far smaller empire depending on it's age. Typically, a state is sufficient to purchase a decent meal and a night of drink (25$). The gold Ring is the highest value coin, and consists of a 15mm diameter, 1.5mm thick gold disk with reeded edges (120 reeds) and a 5mm diameter hole in the center. The head of the coin consists of an intricate geometric pattern of line, used as a secondary detection mechanism. Typically, a ring is sufficient to purchase room and board for a week at a decent inn ($350).
