The Elethian Phenomenon
For seemingly random reasons, beings called Elethians will emerge from areas of concentrated Eleth, with singular purposes that they wish to accomplish. These purposes can be massive, such as destroying an empire, or incredibly mundane, such as moving a rock a few meters. Occasionally, an Elethian will emerge with a constant purpose, such as defending a species or area, or very rarely, to invent a technology.
When an Elethian emerge, they will initially have a strange, routine behavioural pattern. They seem to intuitively understand the language and writing of the first humanoid they meet, and will be able to converse as if they understood their culture. They will invariably then explain their purpose, and ask the humanoid for their help in it. Regardless of their answer, the Elethian will politely depart and disappear for a day back to where they emerged. Once they re-emerge, the Elethian will begin executing a plan to accomplish their purpose.
If the purpose is complex, the Elethian will take time to learn the skills they feel are necessary to accomplish it, occasionally taking decades to do so. Elethians will study and work tirelessly, with seemingly no regard for pleasure while their purpose remains unresolved. They are typically successful at their purpose, although this is not guaranteed. Elethians have been known to fail due to insurmountable odds, assassinations, or simple bad luck. Their interpretation of their purpose is typically reasonable. They will accept an empire as crumbled if it has broken up into a series of warring states, but not due to renaming or dissolution in name only.
Once their purpose is completed, the Elethian will spend the rest of their lives (depending on the subtype, decades to centuries) acting as a normal humanoid, making friends and enemies, setting their own goals, and does not appear to have any relation to their previous purpose.
Manifestation
None have ever seen an Elethian emerge, though there have been sightings within the minute of estimated emergence. However, Elethian mages have been known to predict the emergence with high accuracy, as the Eleth in the area appears to be in chaos shortly before the emergence.
It is theorized that Elethians cannot emerge if the area is being fully observed. Experiments have been conducted with consistently watching an area where emergence is predicted. In some cases, the Elethian emerged from slightly out of sight, severely startling the observers, while in others, the Elethian has simply failed to emerge.
Localization
Elethians can be categorized in a number of subtypes, which will reliably emerge from the same types of places, the most common of which are the Munan Tak, Sosdin Tak, Oris Tak, Vemian Tak, and Zarnea Tak. They are invariably magically talented, making them the only species that appears to have a natural predilection for magic.
