COLDSCOPE receives authorization to begin in-depth trials, including biopsies and short-term quarantine of those afflicted. This too fails to reveal much, and is met with increasing public disdain.

COLDSCOPE reports that no abnormal contaminants were detected in their environmental samples, and requests the ability to commence widespread voluntary testing on those exposed. With incidents mounting and frustrated with the lack of results, the EPHA grants this authority and more - requesting that clinical trials of both affected subjects and the general population in isolation be commenced, as well as a rather thorough battery of tests. COLDSCOPE announces these policies to considerable dismay. When clinical trials fail to attract enough volunteers, the EPHA suggests mandates, which immediately brings several lawsuits and protests. Nevertheless the project continues on in a rough, patchy way.
