Ygrette Melion
Born into the lineage of Le'melion amidst the formative years of Dromaria in the homeland of Kalatearman, Ygrette Melion emerged as a pillar of fairness. Her childhood, heavily influenced by the equitable practices of the Upiryrial settlement of Soth, crafted within her a lifelong commitment to justice, a theme that resonated through her scholarly and religious endeavors.
With a natural inclination toward a life of education, Ygrette believed in the tangible application of her studies, becoming a world scholar dedicated to enacting the principles she so ardently researched. It was within the space of this work that her life converged with Ulric Lothor's, thanks to the introduction by their mutual friend, Temilian Sunrun. Together, Ygrette and Lothor's union grew into a partnership grounded in love, shared ideals, and a combined vision for a future where people and dragons coexisted peacefully.
Ygrette's legacy has not been shadowed by her partner's divine status. She was instrumental in the design of Hearthhome Castle and was a pioneering figure in the establishment of Ania, a city that remains standing proof to the couple's enduring influence. Her scholarly achievements include the revolutionary "Garden of Souls," a seminal work on reincarnation that continues to guide the understanding of life and afterlife within Dromarian spirituality.
The Tome of Valediction , completed in 3,780 DA, was Ygrette's magnum opus. This text distilled the ancient wisdom of the Codes of Valya and the teachings of Tus'Alim into a doctrine that resonated with the citizens of Dromaria, setting the foundation for what would become the Illumination faith. It was this work that provided a beacon of hope during the darkest times of the upcoming age and beyond.
In the midst of her monumental achievment, Ygrette embraced the role of motherhood with fervor. She and Lothor raised seven children: Gwynn, Amir, Narud, Talesin, Bruyn, Celia, and Lokke. Each child was instilled with the principles of the greater good, with most fighting alongside their father as Crusaders of Illumination.
Ygrette's life, though immensely impactful, was not without personal sacrifice. By the time of her passing in 4001 DA, all but one of her children had died. With her passing marked the end of an era, but Ygrette's teachings lived on through her writings and her daughter Gwynn.
In the wake of the Age of Horror, her eldest child Gwynn Lothor upheld Ygrette's legacy, interpreting the end of this dark period as the fulfillment of the Grand Prophecy, with Ulric Lothor as the promised hero. This belief would catalyze the formation of the Lothoren branch of Illumination, and forever instill the name of Ygrette Melion in the minds and hearts of Dromaria forever.
