Felsader
Felsader is a gem-bladed sword created from a fragment of the root structure of the Heart Stone. It was wielded by King Almaer starting in the late stages of the Southern Esperean Consolidation War. As the blade that wounded Dubain, it holds a strong narrative position in the religious history of Espere.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Innately, as a piece of the Heart Stone, Felsader is capable of damaging creations of the Heart Stone, including the Patrons. It pierces a great number of other magical protections, as well, by virtue of the tier of being it exists on.
Felsader is not connected to the Pulse, but it does channel mental energy from the wielder in small ways. People find it easier to strike with than a bulky stone sword ought to be, for example, because the attempt to make an attack with it guides the blade to live up to the attacker's will.
History
The fragment of gemstone that was fashioned into Felsader was collected by the dwarf Ulli, who noted that the roots were very difficult to mine and that success in doing so had been explosive. Still, the material was usable once collected, and the sword was given to Begild when she passed through the Bergsclans when it was deemed the only gift on hand that was fit for a visiting princess.
When Begild had the chance to pass the sword on to her older brother, Felsader became the personal weapon of King Almaer. It was one of the weapons used to fight the battle against Dubain.

Raw materials & Components
Aside from the blade, the materials used to make Felsader are nonessential (though not without function), decorative/ornamental, and replaceable. The handle and crossguard were forged from silver, and the grip was wrapped in silk. The scabbard was also silver, with inlays of gold and nonmagical gemstones.
Tools
In order to split the Heart Stone root, ordinary mining tools were applied with reckless abandon. Fortunately, the blast had no casualties. The jagged edge of the dislodged fragment was already suited to use as a blade, which allowed Felsader's construction without risking further explosions from attempting to sharpen it.
