VSI Interceptor Rifle

In the wake of a massive assault on the Vault, it became clear to the Curator and her staff that their existing armory was inadequate to deal with such determined threats. In particular, there was a gap in close quarters combat capabilities - while the VSI-5 shotgun had proven effective within the Vault, its rate of fire and ammo capacity left something to be desired. Thus was conceived the VSI-Interceptor battle rifle. Toro Arms designed the Interceptor around a new thermal rifle platform: rather than firing shots until a single thermal cartridge was exhausted, this rifle uses individual thermal rounds, self-forging projectiles under intense heat and pressure. The result is a kinetic round with the penetrating power of a thermal cartridge.
