Devil
In a more modern sense, the term "devil" refers to one of the many denizens of the Nine Hells. However, traditionally, the term was coined around the God War. Previously, the term "devil" meant something more akin to the words "rival" or "enemy", with an implication of some sort of betrayal or hurt. As the God War began and concluded, the term became more prevalent to describe the traitor gods in the God War. The angels of those gods became the original devils, though since the species has much evolved, spreading into different types, purposes, and niches. Currently, there are many types of devils, and devil type is generally indicative of rank in the Nine Hells.

Naming Traditions
Devils always have two names. Their true name is always kept secret, as it has power over them. The name they present to others is often long, with harsh sounds and harsher meanings. This name can be given to them (rarely) or chosen on their own.
