Glasskeepers

The Glasskeepers are a non-cohesive collection of groups vaguely united under the same banner, with little to nothing else in common. The original Glasskeepers were a group started by an adventuring party around 203 AGW, with some secretive goal that none of the lower-ranked members of the organisation were privy to, only given short-term goals and objectives to follow. In order to keep their true intentions a secret, only the founding group of Glasskeepers knew the true goal of the organisation, and some members were intentionally told misleading information in the case of a leak, so that the leaders could know the source of the leak. However, this backfired when the original Glasskeepers passed away without sharing this information with anyone else in the organisation, and people began to work of off the little information that they knew about the organisation. For some members, it is a mercenary group. For others, it is based on collecting information, and for others, its focus is to protect varying things of importance. Each Glasskeeper has an entirely different idea of what the organisation is for.

Structure

There are many disputes on the actual organisation structure of the Glasskeepers. The generally agreed upon "highest rank" of Glasskeepers are the Glass Emissaries, which were the original Glasskeepers when the group was founded. However, there is a lot of argument over whether or not this title can be inherited, where some claim that they are rightfully a Glass Emissary while others believe the title died with the original group. Generally, the titles "Greatwarden" and "Glass Sentinel" are given to the highest-ranking of more millitary-focused sections of the organisation, with lower-ranking fighting-based ranks including "Shieldbrother/Shieldsister/Shieldsibling", "Swordbearer", and "Preserver". Some sections that focus more on magic tend to have mineral-related rank names, including "Glass-bearer", "Diamond-bearer", "Quartz-bearer", "Spinel-bearer", and others, referencing the crystal that a caster uses as their spellcasting focus - all spellcasting focuses used by Glasskeepers are clear white. The hierarchy of these roles varies heavily depending on the group. Furthermore, groups that focus more on the clandestine aspect have rank titles such as "Honour-scout", "Courier", or "Marked", the latter referencing a tradition upheld by some glasskeepers to tattoo their skin somewhere with the symbol of the Glasskeepers.

Symbol

The symbol of the Glasskeepers has a few variations, depending on the group, but generally consists of a silver hourglass containing black sand.
