Phoenix
Phoenixes are a type of bird native to the Elemental Plane of Fire. There are not many phoenixes currently in existence, as they rarely procreate. However, they do not have a known end to their biological cycle.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Phoenixes are a bird somewhat similar to storks in appearance, set apart by their bright orange, red, and yellow plumage.
Growth Rate & Stages
Phoenixes are technically immortal, though this immortality comes with a cost. A phoenix's lifespan lasts around 100-200 years, at which point, when the phoenix dies, or if the phoenix dies before then due to other causes, their body erupts into flame and leaves behind a phoenix egg. This egg can be killed without restarting the phoenix's life, but if it is left alone, it hatches a baby phoenix that is technically biologically the same creature as the phoenix that previously died. This phoenix has some remaining memories from its previous life, though they are often cloudy at first and become more clear and numerous as the phoenix ages.
