Basic Outline of Magic System

Crafters: manipulate matter by changing its phases via the removal or addition of energy.
Embedders: invest things with Clearstone energy (making said object impervious to magical attacks) or remove it from objects.
Shifters: move matter using Clearstone energy (but cannot change its form).
A select few, via genetic mutation, are born with two or three of these powers. These men and women are usually powerful enough to change the course of history by themselves.
