Dugalibut
Industry & Trade
Dugalibut has remained one of the largest exporters of Royal Purple in the known world, due to a large concentration of the necessary snails living in waters off the coasts near the city. A particular species results in a highly coveted dye that is a vibrant purple that does not stray too close to either purple-blue or purple-red as many other purple producing-areas create. The profits from so-called Dugalibut Purple have historically been sufficient to maintain Eshawak's independence from more substantial powers such as the Teshua to the north and Kesma to the south. The dye is extracted by a moderate number of Purple Dyer families, who are slaves of the King of Eshawak. These families are treated reasonably well and given generous sums for their efforts, especially considering their professions forces them to become pariahs due to the horrendous smell in which they are constantly inundated. The dying process also colors the hands the same color as the prized garments they create, forever marking them as purple-makers.
Iknalu , a Kalu enclave in the city, established itself a center of trade within the city.

The city is situated on a group of hills, with a river to the north and the Purple Sea situated to the west.
