Hyperbaric Extraction

The extraction process is lengthy and grueling. The treatment takes a week, in some cases, it requires longer treatment. The first part of the treatment is to be placed in the Sonic Compression Chamber. The body is bombarded with changes in pressure and sonic waves. This process is taxing on the body but breaks up the pollutants in the lungs. They are then placed on the procedure table. A mask is strapped to their face connected to the Lung Pump. The pump will, in 10-minute intervals, pump all of the air from the lungs and then allow the patient to breathe before the next suction comes. This will go on for hours till the doctors feel they have removed what they can at that time. The patient is then allowed to rest for a few hours before being placed in the Sonic Chamber again and the process starts anew.
Because of the abuse the body takes in treatment, many patients are left with side effects that last years or even sometimes permanently in some cases. The most common side effects are deafness muscle, body aches and bruises, difficulty breathing, and the mental trauma associated with the procedure.
This process is currently the only treatment for Dreaming Insanity, which works about 76% of the time, with a 24% chance of complication and death from the procedure itself.

Social Impact

Before this treatment, there was no treatment for a patient inflicted with the Dreaming Insanity. This death sentence killed many critical citizens that worked and lived in the lower levels of the Tower Cities, especially in Lockgear.   Now thanks to the treatment, many have been treated and cured of the illness. Access & Availability
This treatment is now commonly available in any of the lower Principal Medical Clinics
Complexity
The key to the treatment is the use of a Sonic Compression Chamber and a Lung Pump. These devices remove pollutants from the lungs. Without this, the body would have no chance to heal.
