Elemental Plane of Earth
The Elemental Plane of Earth is one of the Inner Planes in the Cosmology of Krynn, which is the home of earth elementals, and all manner of other creatures associated with the land. The plane is in truth not a plane at all, but an emanation from The Hidden Vale into The Gray, and is a pocket of the transitive realm that is dominated by the element of earth. This region is a solid realm of soil, rock and stone, and has gateways into the Material Plane. The Elemental Plane of Earth varies from soft soil in parts, to granite, rock and stone in others, and vast veins of gemstones, which have drawn the greedy and ambitious in the past. Travellers into this realm find themselves wandering through the many tunnels and caverns that stretch throughout, encountering only a few elementals and creatures. However the greatest danger to visitors is to transport themselves into an area of solid earth, and become trapped in rock and suffocate or starve. No sky or sun exists in this realm, and the Elemental Plane of Earth is as dark as the darkest cave, except where the occasional luminous gem or crystal provides some natural light.
Natives in this region speak the Terran Language, and are exceedingly comfortable in the depths of the earth. Earth elementals are the most common denizen of this realm, openly destroying caverns and tunnels that they find, preferring to traverse through soil and rock, than through open spaces. Xorns, earth mephits, salt mephits, thoqquas and even the occasional razhak are known to dwell here as well.
