Oodo
Thousands of years ago, a druid used Awakening on a dinosaur, and the awakened creature showed a talent for druidic magic. They learned much, and were eventually able to Awaken others, and occasionally there would be one who also showed an aptitude for the druidic arts. So it has been that the mixed-species tribe has managed to exist as a self-sufficient unit for generations even when the rest of civilization fell apart. Now, though, they're having trouble getting the sacred stones ('a piece of agate worth at least 1000gp', the costly consumable component for Awaken in D&D 5e), and the party has agreed to find some for them...
The current druid is a ~200-yr-old ankylosaurus who hasn't yet found anyone to be his successor, and the village only has two sacred stones left in reserve. He's been convinced for years that the current generation will be the last, and has been spending his last years just trying to enjoy what life has left to offer. He hasn't moved from his spot on the hill in almost a decade - the others bring him food and company when he needs it - so his back is covered in moss and he looks like he's practically a part of the landscape. Maybe our heroes can rekindle a spark of hope?
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Oodo is a huge, ancient-looking ankylosaurus. His craggy face has multiple scars, his armour plates are cracked in several places, and his horns and spikes are chipped and worn. It doesn't look like he has moved from his current location in several years as moss has started to cover him like a blanket.
Mental characteristics
Education
After being Awakened by the tribes previous druid, Oodo was one of the rare individuals who showed an aptitude for druidic magic. He was trained to be the caretaker of the current generation, an extremely important role as it is only through nature's magic that their village and way of life can survive.
Failures & Embarrassments
Oodo hasn't yet found anyone to be his successor, and the village only has two sacred stones left in reserve. For years he has been convinced that the current generation will be the last and has been spending his twilight years just trying to enjoy what life has left to offer. He hasn't moved from his spot on the hill in almost a decade - the others bring him food and company when he needs it - so his back is covered in moss and he looks like he's practically a part of the landscape. Maybe our heroes can rekindle a spark of hope?
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Oodo had lost hope that his village will be able to continue. Without the sacred stones, there can be no next generation, only instinct-driven beasts. He loves all of his 'children' dearly, and though he wishes that one of them could have shown a spark for nature's magic he has come to accept that it just was not meant to be.
However, the arrival of the strange soft-skinned creatures has given him the first glimmer of hope that he has felt in decades. They survived the perilous journey to the volcanoes to the north and were able to return with two of the Sacred Stones in hand. While this isn't yet enough to secure a future, perhaps it is not yet time to give up on one.
Social
Family Ties
As the village shaman, Oodo holds a special place of importance in the village and appears to be well-respected by all of the other saurian inhabitants.
Mannerisms
Oodo has lived for a very long time and is very tired. He finds joy in the small things in life - a warm sunbeam, conversations with the younger ones, and indulging in his favourite food, black cherries, when they are in season.
An ancient ankylosaurus who lives in the swamps near the @Kairon(location) address. He seems to be the leader of a small tribe of sapient dinosaurs. He seems quite weary and seems to think that the current generation may be the last for some reason. He has asked the party to retrieve the Sacred Stones from the volcanoes to the north.
