Description
The gestures represent emotions and feeling such as content, anger, disgust, approval, or even puzzlement. Drow culture only accepts the established hand gestures and anything else is considered extremely rude, with the only exception of communication to family and close friends.
The sign language does not include gestures for laugher or crying, as these expressions are believed to come from the stomach, and it is thought that these emotions are unhealthy to hold in. Each gesture is related, for example smirks are similar to grins and smiles, and frowns are similar to cringes and puzzlement.
The right hand is considered strong, and the left hand is considered clever. The left hand is used to do the hand gestures, because it is closer to the heart.
