The Starry Veil

What beauty is found in subtlety!

Stellavaelum is the Divine Creation of Hiqra.
As the world became threatened not only by the lashings of the Primordial Chaos, but by the merciless advances of Nothingness, the Eight became fearful that everything they were building together would be brought low. Even the cleanising light of Illustra could not repel every weapon pointing at existence, and attrition began to wear against the power of the Eight. Hiqra thought to hide their world somewhere safe.
A great Veil was made to wrap about the world, and it proved effective at hiding from Nothingness, and malleable enough to survive the onslought of Primordial Chaos. However the shroud of darkness terrified then creations that had begun to roam Durath, who thought their world doomed and surrounded by Nothingness. So Hiqra remade this Great Gift, adding the stars to the inside of the cloak.
While the most enduring and popular theroy is that the sheer effort of maintaining the Veil against the Chaos and Nothingness is the reason for Hiqra's madness, some theologians posit that this act of remaking either tainted the Veil, or constituted a fundamental change to Hiqra, breaking their mind.
