Durinia

Durinia is a land shrouded in mystery. It is not often referenced outside of the continent, and not much is known about the Island.
It is split horizontally by the Dragon's Spine, a mountain chain that separates the temparate low lands from the high desert north.
Florntor's Peak rises from the Dragon's Spine. From it's frozen peaks, a river simply called The Nen flows to provide life to most of the inhabitants of Durinia.
East of Florntor's Peak is the oldest City in Durinia. Havre Mort is a pirate town that has little to do with the rest of the continent as it exists solely to provide a stopping place for slavers and those of ill repute. It is separate from The Nen by a strip of land on which nothing grows.
Travelling down The Nen from Florntor's Peak is the town of Porttree. Established when the island was first settled as a lumbertown, it provides lumber for the major cities east of it. Porttree can only be reached by coming down the Nen from its source or by road from Riverstad which is 6 days away. For this reason they do not get many visitors. The population is part human, part halfling.
Porttree is located in the Nevae Forest. The Forest extends into southward and is Follows the Nen eastward.
Riverstad has always tried to be bigger than it was. It was founded as a central hub to collect resources from the center of the island to trade back to Moinavarna on the coast. It collects would from Portree and stone and ore from the dwarves of Nogaak. It is the most diverse of the Durninian cities. It is run by an ogligarchy heavily influenced by the local merchant's guild. Recently, the town has constructed a temple to the goddess Ioun. This is significant as no other deity has a temple on this island. A festival to honor the completion of the temple and the deity herself will occur in 10 days from start of campaign.
Just a half days journey into the hills to the west of RIverstad, is a monstary to the goddess Ioun. It is said to have been founded by monks who sought truth and left Riverstad to pursue true knowledge. The monks of the monastery are proficient in pottery making and supply pottery to RIverstad.
Not much is known about Nogaak as they deal directly with the merchant's guild in Riverstad, and keep to themselves.
The high Elfish city of Moinavarna, sits on the eastern coast of Durinia, and it is believed to be the second oldest city in Durinia. The inhabitants of Durinia are believed to have landed at Moinavarna and expanded into the center of the island from this city. Porttree, Nogaak, and Riverstad are all in existence to provide needed supplies for the growing city.
To the southwest of Durinia lies the Tonberry Marshes and Green Hills, an unexplored territory known for the strange lights that often appear there.
The land west of Moinavarna and south of the South Bend Nen is called the Moogle Plains.
North of the Dragon's Spine is a sprawling desert.
