Killett's Wings
1/12/20
About a week after the harrowing fight in the gang warehouse, Killett found a package addressed to her on the doorstep of Opal's shop. When the little kobold opened the package, it revealed a swathe of dark brown canvas which unfolded into a cloak sewn for a human child or, in this case, a kobold. It had a few clever alterations to accommodate its intended wearer: a thick ribbon sewn near the hem of the cloak allowed it to be tied to one's tail to prevent it from accidentally revealing itself, finger holes allowed the wearer to conceal their arms while keeping their hands free, and the hood of the cloak had eyeholes that allowed the wearer to pull it fully over the head and still see. The cloak was stitched with a pattern of feathers and a beak that, when donned fully, made Killett look like a smiling sparrow or perhaps a griffon hatchling. The underside of the ‘wings’ had dozens of pockets sewn into them, perfect for odds and ends and spell components. The pattern and color were subtle enough that they did not stand out unless one was very nearby. It was designed for style and stealth.
Attached to the package was a note written in swooping flourishes.
"I know it can be difficult for your people. People assume the worst and can be hateful. Things are getting better, but it will take some time for people to open their eyes. Meanwhile, your own ability to disguise yourself is very clever, but I thought you might like to have a choice to use it or not. I noticed you liked my friend's bird companion, but you are your own kind of bird and deserve your own wings."
It was signed, "Fiego Laurentis de Gryphon."
