Lucrecia Sophia de Gryphon is the eldest child of Linathandra Winddancer and Raoul Guillaume de Gryphon. As the child of love she was taught a joy of life and as a child who learned at the feet of adventurers who were just beginning to settle down she learned many a heroic quality that led her to joining the Waterdeep Guard.
From her flamboyant father, she learned exuberance and from her mother and elven cousins she gained an appreciation of nature and the energies of living things, so it only made sense that she took the Oath of the Ancients and vowed her life to the path of the Paladin, fighting to kindle light, nurture life, and encourage love in the world.
Despite her slender frame Lucrecia, or Aunt Lucy as Fiego calls her, has a very large presence. Her booming laughter can be heard across a crowded tavern just as well as her commanding voice can be heard across a chaotic battlefield. She throws herself into both situations equally, with a glee that is intimidating to the unprepared. Though she has the manner of a born noble and can easily mingle with the other high born of her station, she prefers the coarse boisterousness of her soldiers.
Now nearing eighty, which is about middle aged for a half elf, she has risen in the ranks in the Guard and is the Lieutenant General of the Griffon Cavalry serving directly under Warden Elminster. Having spent most of her life dedicated to her military career it wasn’t until she rose in the ranks that she allowed herself more of a personal life. About twenty years ago she married a young blacksmith, Eward Smythe, who had kept her armor in good repair through many a conflict. Together they have three children. Their eldest, Raoul so named for her father, is doing her proud as a young Captain in the Griffon Cavalry.

General Physical Condition

Lucrecia is an auburn haired beauty with strong features. Her long years of military service have chiseled her body into a wiry dynamo of energy. To look at her, she does not appear to physically be more than a passing attractive woman of middling height, but in action she burns with an energy that radiates from her in a palpable wave. Her movements are quick and decisive. When she commits herself to an action, she commits with her entire being.
When not in full armor, she dresses in trousers and tunics that leave her room to run or fight if necessary. Her only concession to vanity is her long auburn mane of hair that she keeps tied up under her helmet in a fight.
