Ubtao
Ubtao is the patron deity of Chult, known as the Father of the Dinosaurs, Creator of Chult, Founder of Mezro and less charitably, the Deceiver. For reasons known only to himself, he has remained distant from gods and mortals alike.
Perhaps the reason is his being a Primordial, a race of god-like elementals that arose when the multiverse was young. It can be assumed that his characteristic distance also applied to the Primordials, as Ubtao sided with the gods during the Dawn War, wherein he earned the sobriquet "the Deceiver" from his former kin.
The time just after the Dawn War was a period of great interaction with mortals, raising up the city of Mezro from the living earth and his choosing the Barae, its protectors. Ubtao was heavily involved with the affairs of the kingdom, but as the ages passed, he drew away more and more. None may say why.
In these latter times, Ubtao keeps his own company, roused to interference only by circumstances he deems of importance. He seldom answers prayers, and even then, only subtly.
