Both a political association and social group, the Knights of Temperance carry a message of sobriety, asceticism, patriotism, and discipline. Based in Republic of Menestia, they maintain significant political influence in the The Grand Senate while promoting their values in civil society as well as recruiting new members into their order.
The Knights of Temperance publicly call for the ban of alcoholic beverages in Menestia, harsher punishment for the use of illicit products, as well as a military crack down on black market networks and trade. They praise a lifestyle based on faith, minimalism, and strong patriotism. They often associate the rise of substances in Menestia with open trade with other nations, especially Tamynia, who they accuse of intentionally sedating Menestian citizens through drug trade.
Although they call themselves Knights, there is no knighthood attached to the Knights of Temperance. The term only exists to confer further prestige and respect upon their members, who can be anyone from soldiers or monks to crafters and merchants.
