A letter sent to Luther Valentine

Viscount Valentine, I am certain this is not a letter you would expect, given the circumstances of the war and our last encounter. However, having the knowledge that you are in some state of living affords me the opportunity to converse with you. I am not particularly inclined to meet you in the Cryphan capital, and an in person meeting isn’t possible at this time. You told me that you wanted to have a long conversation, so this is our chance to. I am interested in hearing what you have to say.

I have lived my entire life knowing very little about you and not at all expecting to find you here. What I do know was my mother dearly wanted to convince you to come back with her, though I know from what I've been told that you were killed before that was able to happen. It’s always been a point of loss and regret for her.
