A wax-sealed reply to Illara Alessio Zar'ath bearing the Dalvath royal crest
To my beloved daughter, first of my heart,
Firstly let me say that your mother and I are overjoyed to hear from you, and to know that you are free and in good health. As both of us have previously suffered the ‘hospitality’ of the Cryphan people, we know far too well the fates that may have awaited you - I don’t wish this to become some sort of dubious family tradition, so do make certain to remain free and safe while you’re within those dark borders.
We are working to re-establish the supply lines as soon as possible. Do not send a message saying where you are, because these messages could theoretically be intercepted, and I would not be the cause of your capture. I will send someone with the skills and resources to locate you and bring you out of there.I can already hear you protesting that you wish to remain and continue the fight, and I respect your conviction and your desire to help, although I absolutely cannot allow it. Aside from the fact that if I did your mother would kill me on the spot, there is another reason.
As a young man, I was granted by the Divine Suffering a vision of apocalypse; I foresaw the coming of the Eye before anyone, and although it was too late for me to act and stop what was coming, everything that I saw was truth. I have told you this story before. What I never told you was that I foresaw a second threat as well.
I saw a great beast that bled corruption in the heart of Crypha. I saw that corruption spreading from that dark land, claiming and destroying all it touched. I saw the world falling beneath its shadow. Illara, I beseech you, do not take the idea of standing against the vampires lightly - this is a true threat to the entire world, one which I have pleaded for the other nations to take seriously
Return home, and we can find ways in which you can help the war effort from here. I don’t want to lose you.
With love, and the hopes of seeing you soon,
Prince-Consort Lorenzo Dolore Zar’ath
