Brimstone Stew
One of the most important moments in a young goblin's life is the first time their skin is consumed by fire. Using dragon blood oil, goblins can safely light themselves on fire for an extended amount of time. At around 10 years old, goblins are taken by their parents to an open field, far from trees and the wooden caravans that they make their homes out of. There they are allowed to feel fire against their skin for the first time, after the young goblins are brought home to partake in the brimstone stew.
Brimstone stew is the traditional meal for the young goblins to enjoy after their long day experiencing fire up close for the first time. A large cauldron is set out in the middle of all of the gathered caravans, elders will gather the youth around the caldron and teach them how each ingredient represents the aspects of living life with fire.
The broth is the first ingredient, prepared by the elders the day before. It is the ingredient that represents the appropriate honor and reverence you should have when working with fire, the time and effort it requires to spend the day creating the broth is also how one should study and learn to work with fire.
The meat, hunted by the gathers, is charred over an open flame, showing how if you do not take the proper precautions the flame can leave you burned beyond aid.
Mixed vegetables are a part of the meal as well, before going in the great pot, the elders will pour oil on the gathered vegetables and let the youth watch the flames. Explaining how the fire can burn all that they need to survive, food and trees, and that they must take care of their surroundings when working with Ezelrian's gift.

This was a lovely read, and I love how it shows you just how much understanding these goblins have of fire and its destructive nature, that they put so much value on imparting that understanding to their youth!
