Limbo

Limbo is a recently discovered plane of existence that became known to Lazwish during the Portal War in 4000 AR. Before the war, it had been nothing more than a small crack in reality, the unseen space between all things, but after The Eye created the first portal in Lazwish, that small crack was pulled open. The benefit to traveling via the Limbo plane as opposed to other forms of teleportation is that for those capable of tapping into it there is no casting time required, just spiritual energy and stamina. This is limited, though, by the strain tapping into Limbo puts on the caster. Moving many people or any large objects via Limbo requires multiple portal users, as one person alone attempting this feat can be seriously injured or even killed by the energy requirements. Those who have seen Limbo describe it as an empty, almost formless space, in which some of the more defined areas take the appearance of long white hallways. There have been only two fully defined structures ever discovered in Limbo. The first was the library that seems to sit at the nexus point or intersection of the entire plane. This library, like everything else in limbo, is entirely white and lacks any distinguishing features. Even the books within are colorless, and the text within them completely undecipherable. The second structure, a compound used by The Eye during the time that Limbo served as his base of operations, is artificial in nature, its buildings imported from another plane. This base inside of Limbo does prove that things can be brought into Limbo and will remain there so long as you can find the location again. Locate object spells have proven helpful in searching for lost items, but they are not always successful.

Due to Limbo being the between space of all of reality, the gods and Titans have no dominion over the plane and the souls of those who die there cannot travel to the Life Titan for rebirth nor to their final resting place. This is known as Soul Dissolution, a phenomenon that has only ever been seen within Limbo and is the most effective way of ensuring that someone does not return after their first death.

While the knowledge of Limbo is new, its existence is not. It is believed to have existed the moment the The Founder Gods of Lazwish used the creation artifacts to make the new universe.
