Adforek Medor - The Fae Realms

What mortals refer to as the Fae Realms is more accurately described as a warped, mirrored universe. All inhabited planets are mirrored in this dimension, with the empty space between them relatively nonexistent; when you look up to the sky you can see the other worlds just as though you were looking upon Dynos' moons from the surface. In the native tongue, it is called "Adforek Medor", literally meaning "the lands of primordial magic."   However, there are many very notable differences from The Grand Corporeum. Plant and animal life is far more dense and varied. Magic permeates everything to a far greater degree. There is no distinct day and night cycle; instead it would seem more like large areas just fade into and out of shadow for indeterminant periods of time, with no discernable light source like a star. In these shadows, the environment quickly decays and malefic creatures spawn out of dark pools. This shade is most commonly referred to as the Atramenta.   Due to the randomness of the Atramenta, there are few stable settlements across each world in the Fae Realms. Those that do exist are led by Lu'onem who have the power to ward off or limit the impact of the darkness. As a result, many communities are nomadic.   A vast sea of air connects all of the mirrored worlds. Gargantuan columns of water or ice form to bridge their oceans as the planets drift past each other, while columns of fire and earth appear suddenly to bind the volcanos and highest peaks together. As the worlds meander apart, these columns shatter, their remains floating through the zephyr until coalescing with the respective Elementarum.

Localized Phenomena

Hag Sickness - Some fae that get caught in the Atramenta become afflicted in both body and mind. Their perception of their surroundings begins to warp; that which was once beautiful is perceived as hideous, and the ugly likewise becomes beautiful. A sick one's skin will gradually become pale or even grayish, while their hair thins and becomes wiry. The ailment can be treated by soaking in pure fae waters under the light of The Blazing Elementarum, but the cleanse can nigh irrevocably taint the waters used. For female fae specifically, long term exposure to the decaying nature of the darkness can even convert them completely into Hags, from which the only salvation is death.   Dire Anguish - In some individuals, exposure to the Atramenta draws out and amplifies negative emotions. Should the afflicted be stuck in the darkness for too long, the emotion can dominate their mind and even begin to mutate their body. In the worst cases, this can become so powerful that they exude an aura of a specific dark emotion, which any person who gets too close will be subjected too themselves.
