Mother of Thunder Hasks, Scourge of the Mountains

Before choosing Voknul's Anvil as the site to start building Zankor, the medvalyn settlers first explored much of the Setting Ridge. While they could hold their own against the local Kupro tribes, the explorers encountered a threat they could not overcome: a thunder hask larger than any other.
The medvalyn observed how even the fierce Kupro fled when her lightning flashed throughout the peaks, her thunder boomed and caused avalanches. One foolish clan thought they could best the monster, while a couple members of other clans followed to watch. She strode taller than many of the trees, her hardened scaly skin deflected any weapon they struck her with, her blasts of lightning arced through scores of warriors, her heavy spined tail and powerful claws crushed or skewered any who did not flee fast enough. The bloodlines of the Flintcracker Clan ended that day, as the watchers fled for their lives. The other clans of settlers wisely decided the risk was not worth building among these mountains.
In the centuries since Zankor’s founding, Molniyana as they called her has undoubtedly fallen to age. But those raised in the western valley still consider her to be the mother of all thunder hasks which dominate the peaks, and avoid scaling the Ridge when stormless thunder cracks.
