Ixaitu

The All-Seer, God of Countless Eyes

Ixaitu sees all of the infinite timelines of the multiverse. They do not seek to impose their will over it, instead simply content to observe and enjoy how it all progresses.   Their form is bizarre to mortals, often depicted as a polyhedron with dozens of sides, cut from a flawless crystal. Most facets contain an eye, some sprout seemingly mechanical wings in haphazard directions, and from others extend tendrils to manipulate and organize their environment. Ixaitu’s speech is a sonorous chorus - a thousand voices whispering in unison. Several instances of their form exist simultaneously throughout their realm, each surrounded by gaseous facsimiles of the parallel versions of a given world, as the deity watches every concurrent timeline of the mortals within.

The Icon of Ixaitu is an open eye, centered over an indigo hourglass. It is often surrounded by an unbroken circle. Amulets of this icon are commonly referred to as the Eternal Eye.

Tenets of Faith

The All-Seer’s followers generally believe in a version of Eternalism: all possible futures are true in that every decision divides and duplicates their corner of the universe in that moment. However, they also recognize the existential dread that this belief system can inflict on some people. As such, they do not actively try to recruit or convert others to their beliefs, rather they simply welcome and guide those who inquire. Many Ixaitunians are scholars, seeking to uncover or spread knowledge. They do not worship in temples, instead sponsoring libraries and academies, practicing their theology through research and teaching.   Ixaitunian Eternalism dictates that all of the multiverse exists concurrently and in the same space, but do not directly interact. Theoretically, there is one original “primary” universe, but it is impossible to say if your consciousness is on it rather than one of the parallels. Proponents of this theology do not commonly support making predictions of the future, for every prediction that can be made is technically correct and exists in equal measure. So, there is ultimately no point trying to use foresight to guide your choices, and to truly peer into the multiversal timelines would break any mortal mind. Some theorize that the source of magic is actually generated by the collapse of parallel universes, when the person whose decision created it dies in that timeline. The phenomenon of “deja vu” is thought to be an echo of these collapsed universes.
