Shu-go Kuchu, Sentinel of Pewea
The Aerial Guardian, The Sky Terror
The Tabaxi who have left their societies on Ekos and Pewea to explore the rest of the world love to share their stories of the prodigious raptor which calls the smaller island home. The roc -an epic bird of prey a hundred meters in wingspan- can be seen diving down to the waters to snatch up whales, sharks, and other large sea life, then carrying it back up to its nest hidden in Pewea’s jagged cliffs. It occasionally ventures across the Ekosian rainforests, seeking to catch the largest land animals and inspiring fear in the tribes. Ekosian tabaxi parents tell their children that if they don’t behave and stay out of sight, the Sky Terror will snatch them up. In stark contrast, the Pewean tabaxi enclave reveres the roc as their protector, crediting it for the relative safety the island enjoys compared to the hostility on Ekos. They call it Shu-go Kuchu, the aerial guardian.
