The Verdigris Tempest

The North Wind, The Perpetual Furor

Over the northern half of the Verdigris Ocean, a ceaseless storm wanders and rages. Its strong winds and strikes of lightning occasionally pummel the coastal settlements of Poseinia. Yet tales have spread among the ocean's seafarers that the storm is alive; the Tempest has seemingly shifted course in such a way to specifically follow or cut off passing vessels. 
Indeed, the survivors of one such ship which was run aground by the storm regaled that past the torrential downpour, within the swirling clouds, illuminated by arcs of lightning was a massive winged serpent. However, the story wasn't given much credence, instead seen as the delusions of a drunken crew exhausted by trying to fight against nature itself.
