Gael (ɡāl)

Gael (also referred to as Gold Pieces, Gold Parchment, or GP) is the standard national currency of the Shaden Republic . A "Gael" is a standardized unit which refers to 5 grams of gold.
A citizen of Shadeniin may deposit or exchange gold though any bank of Shadeniin for easier-to-carry bank notes which vary in denomination (1GP, 10GP, 50GP, 100GP, and 500GP). One may also optionally exchange bank notes for gold coins or ingots. This system was implemented by Martin Gael, the first Prime Minister of the Shaden Republic, as an alternative method of carrying gold pieces when the weight of large quantities becomes a burden.
