Awakening Myth

Everything presented is subject to change as the adventuring party discovers hidden secrets.

Summary

Those that accept this myth believe that mortalkind always existed. They believe that an unfathomable power took over the minds of the various mortal races and used them as mind-slaves for some hitherto unknown work. They believe that when mortalkind was "formed," they were actually simply released from their stupor and rediscovered what was once theirs. They surmise that several millennia passed between their takeover and release, believing the ruins were a result of the mortals being pulled away from their work.   Devotees of this myth believe that The Primogenitors were simply great leaders who transitioned their fellow mortals into the world.

Historical Basis

Scholars of this theory state that the overgrown ruins is a natural state that an area would become in the absence of caretakers.

Cultural Reception

Most scholarly circles accept this as the truth, with many sub-myths existing with different beings as the slavers. However, believers of this myth find themselves in constant arguments with believers of other myths. Several wars have even been fought over this debate, as religious and druidic circles find this myth anathema to their foundational beliefs.
