The creation of the globe

Before the beginning of time there was only darkness - a ballooning, ever-growing nothingness. But tiny points of light tickled the darkness, causing her to sneeze and seeds to pop out of her. The points of light gathered together, surrounding the seeds and causing them to grow larger and larger. This is how four primal gods were born, who together created the universe with countless galaxies, stars, planets, worlds and their living beings.

Since the gods always had to make decisions together when creating something, they wanted to one day create a world that would only be based on their own preferences. They took a small part of every galaxy they had created so far, enveloped it with an element and thus formed four world spheres.

But none of the four could convince the others that their world was the most beautiful and so a dispute broke out between the gods. They shot lightning and thunder at each other and fought against each other with all sorts of magic, so that the four world spheres rocked back and forth and began to move faster and faster until they finally collided.

But instead of bouncing back off each other, they swallowed each other, forming an even larger world - the globe of Elaqitan, which had now become a lump of air, earth, fire and water.

Elaqitan would have descended into chaos. But from the power of the four elements, an island gradually emerged that bound everything to itself, ordered it and slowly formed the four continents of the elements.

The primordial gods saw what they had done and wanted to repair the damage. So each of them planted a seed in the middle of the island, from which a small trunk gradually developed, which grew into a strong and magnificent world tree. From its roots emerged landscapes with mountains, rivers, bodies of water and deserts. Life developed from the seeds of its flowers.

Now the primordial gods discovered that there was still space on the globe. So they decided to create another continent. For this purpose they also took a part of their galaxies, but they did not surround it with an element. They formed a new Elaqitel from it and set it apart from the other continents without a connection to the World Tree. Landscapes flowed out from the center and spread across the country. The gods planted another seed in the middle, but this seed did not grow upwards. It spread down into the underworld and surrounded the entire underground of the Elaqitel. Now many colorful, diverse mushrooms sprouted from the ground and released their spores, which also led to the development of life here.

The primordial gods looked at their work. Elaqitan with its five continents had come into being and they were satisfied.

Distribution

Especially on Brictælgis and Téshán, the myth is part of the story. Pilgrims from Téshán traveled to the World Tree and founded the all-knowing great temple of Elaqitan in the leafy crown.

From here priests went out into the world and spread the legend to the other Elaqitels. Except for Uluriqi, there are records of the creation story on every continent.

Creation myths of the individual continents

Historical sources

During excavations in 1,065 AEC at Tæn Wôtris on Brictælgis, ancient stone tablets were discovered that were dated to around 7,000 BEC. The stone tablets included, among other things, the oldest depictions of the creation of Elaqitan. Unfortunately, the panels were destroyed in a devastating fire at 1,545 AEC. Copies on parchment only exist in fragments.

The name "Eqilateus" can be found several times on old king lists from Vinduria, an ancient civilization of Téshán. However, the records of the king lists only begin in 5,625 BEC with Tâqíl I - king of the fairy elves of Vinduria.

Religion & Belief

The religion of Elaqism is particularly widespread on Téshán due to the high number of temples. On Brictælgis, Elaqism is practiced more freely and the story of creation is passed down through Druids of the Brictælgica. There are several groups on Layida that have split off from Elaqism.

Literature & Art

The "Eqilateus Saga" from the year 513 BEC is kept in the monastery of Makori on Layida, which describes the pilgrimage of Eqilateus of Vinduria in the year 8,642 BEC in rhymes on elaborately decorated parchments .

Especially in the temples on Téshán, ceiling paintings and glass mosaics tell the story of creation.

The most original of the myths can be found on Téshán and Brictælgis. Elaqitan were created by the primordial gods of the night "Nystix" and the sky "Lyais", as well as the primordial goddesses of the day "Ophine" and the underworld "Uona".

Nystix created the earth world. Lyais created the world of air. The two primordial goddesses Ophine and Uona created the worlds of water and fire.

Téshàn Element Air

The Tésháni believe that Eqilateus of Vinduria witnessed the creation of the world in several dreams and passed on what happened to his descendants in oral traditions.

Brictaelgis Element Earth

According to the Brictælgica, Eqilateus of Vinduria was once on a pilgrimage to the World Tree. The closer he got to the World Tree, the more often he had visions of the creation story, which he told his descendants after his journey home.

Layida Element Fire

According to the Layikani, the day goddess was married to the night god and the sky god was married to the underworld goddess. From their union emerged four gods of the elements. However, in a fit of weakness, the goddess of the underworld succumbed to the night god's expressions of love and secretly bore him another son. When the God of Heaven learned this, he is said to have been so angry that he killed the illegitimate child and shed his blood on the site of Elaqitan, where Idaka is today.

In mourning for her son, the goddess of the underworld created an island and planted a seed in its midst. The tears of the half-siblings watered the seed from which the World Tree grew. In addition, each of them sacrificed a part of his body and placed it at the root ends of the tree, from which the four continents of the elements developed.

Ulűri̋qi̋ Element Water

Priests on Uluriqi also tried to proclaim the creation story of Eqilateus, but it was not so widely spread here. In the consciousness of the Ulűqírīrī, it is assumed that the dragon goddess Mǐqȍtl once lived alone in the ocean and one day united with the sky god Lùhû. Before the Dragon Goddess transformed into the World Tree, she gave birth to five gods from the union, who brought the individual continents to life.

Idaka Origin of mankind

On Idaka it is purely a myth. Here people don't believe in the creation story. According to some researchers, Elaqitan originated over 200,000 years ago. This has been confirmed in scientific dating using rock samples from all continents. It is believed that Elaqitan was formed by collision with other celestial bodies, in which enough elemental material reached the surface, which led to the formation of continents and living things. However, why the abilities of the Idacians differ from those of the inhabitants of other continents has not yet been clarified.
