Albion and Evaro Duchies

Traditionally Albion is ruled by the Tzar with the 25 Dukes, who’s lineage flows from the first Tzar’s extended family, acting to control the many areas around the country. As many of these connections are based on ancient marriages and blood ties, this can sometimes strain the power the Tzar has on distant regions. While most kings would take hostages and keep children and family of the many outlying duchies in the capitol to ensure they would not rebel. The first Tzar took a different approach, instead opening a school in the capitol and encouraging these families to send their children between the ages of 10-18 there. Making the school out as a place to mingle and meet others. The big difference between the idea of hostage taking and this was the fact that all that attended the school were considered the same rank until graduation. In fact, E’varo’s own children attended the academy and apart from close friends and relatives, no one else who attended the school new the names or identities of the princes. Not until an official ceremony is held celebrating their coming of age (16) in which the they were publicly presented and given their first duties. Even after this fact the princes and the royal family frowned on the use of position to get away with things, a practice at the academy still held to this day. the map provides a quick guide to the 26 Albion Noble families and the land they control as their Duchy.
